SORRY ZELOS,

Rousing from his sleep, Lloyd blinks against an uncomfortable amount of throbbing pressure that settles itself in his skull, unpleasant and generally awful as he opens his eyes to a sunny, mid-day sky. His shoulders and spine ache, too, tense and sore, so he slowly rolls his shoulder-blades, massaging at his neck, and takes in where he is. Lloyd, in his drowsy and tired mind, takes a moment to glance around, eyes narrowing as he tries to register his location, and then catching on brilliant red hair, just off to his left.

And suddenly, he's wide awake again. Zelos leans against the tree next to Lloyd, their packs wrapped to his wrists by their straps, his eyes barely open as he tries to fight off his own obvious exhaustion. He must have kept watch, Lloyd realizes, shame and guilt finding their way onto his face in a frown. And - where Lloyd is now, that is not where he had been when he fainted, so Zelos had to have carried him over, not to mention how stressful it is to see someone just drop like that. So Lloyd passed out and left Zelos alone to deal with everything, huh? How responsible, Irving.

Still though, there is an undoubtable level of gratefulness surrounding it all, much like a warm hug on a cold day. Not only has Zelos agreed to give up his life as he knew it just to follow Lloyd on a dangerous escape from their stifling positions in life, but here he is, trying his best to keep alert when even his own exhaustion is creeping upon him, just to give Lloyd a chance to recover. Zelos still cares, Lloyd knows for sure now, even though Lloyd had barely been there for him for the past few years, even though they're basically strangers in all but shared experiences. Lloyd doesn't know what he did to deserve someone as wonderful as Zelos by his side through all of this bullshit, but he's glad he did at least one thing right in his life.

Twisting to reach out, softly gripping at Zelos' shoulder, Lloyd shakes him just the slightest amount. Dealing with a half-asleep Zelos reminds him just a little of when they were kids, the first and last time he spent the whole night in Zelos' room. Even though the memory is clouded in worry and anxiety, Lloyd can remember waking up holding the redhead close, and the long process of trying to wake the grump up bright and early for once. Without fighting the small smile that spreads on his face, Lloyd gently calls out to Zelos

"Hey, Zelos. I'm awake, I'll take over from here. Get comfortable, alright? You have to rest up too."
